Kuntanawa Hapé • Samaúma

The Samauma tree, also known as the “Tree of Life” and the “Ladder of Heaven,” is revered as the Mother of all trees and the true Queen of the Amazon rainforest. Towering above all others, she offers shade, protection, and spiritual presence to the forest. For generations, Amazonian peoples have believed that Samauma holds magical powers, safeguarding the trees and the creatures that dwell beneath her canopy.

Among the Kuntanawa, Samauma is seen as a sacred bridge between Heaven and Earth. In their ancestral teachings, the tree is said to be home to the spirits of the forest. This deep spiritual reverence makes Kuntanawa Samauma Hapé a powerful snuff for connection, protection, and guidance from higher realms.

• Energetic Profile:

Energetically, Kuntanawa Samauma Hapé works deeply on the crown chakra, the center of spiritual connection and higher consciousness. By activating this chakra, it enhances our awareness, aligns us with divine wisdom, and elevates our spiritual perception.
It also resonates with the navel (or umbilical) chakra, the energy point linked to personal power, relationships, and emotional balance. Through this dual action, Samauma Hapé not only lifts the spirit toward the celestial but also restores inner strength, self-esteem, and harmonious connections with others.
Kuntanawa Samauma Hapé is truly a “ladder to heaven,” guiding the body, mind, and spirit into alignment with the sacred rhythms of the forest.

• Traditional Wisdom:

The Kuntanawa call themselves the People of the Palm Fruit or the People of the Stars. They live in the Alto Juruá Indigenous Reserve in Acre, Brazil, along the Tejo River, in villages such as Kuntamana and Seven Stars. With a population of about 400 people, they preserve a profound shamanic tradition, crafting a diverse array of sacred Hapé blends, each with unique flavors and purposes.

• The blend contains:

Kuntanawa Samauma Hapé is made from the ashes of the Samauma bark (Ceiba pentandra), known in English as the kapok tree, the largest tree in the forest. Combined with carefully selected sacred mapacho, this blend carries the strength and wisdom of the tree itself.

The Samauma tree is highly valued for its medicinal uses in the Amazon. Its bark is known for its diuretic properties, traditionally used to treat abdominal bloating or “belly water.” It is also considered a rejuvenating and fertile essence for women, often used to support childbirth and restore vitality.

About Hapé:

Hapé, pronounced 'haa-pay', is a sacred herbal blend made by indigenous tribes of the Amazon.
Its application involves the use of tools to blow the hapé into the nostrils.
In the tribes, its use is always associated with moments of prayer and meditation, facilitating a connection with Mother Nature.
Traditional peoples use this healing hapé to clear the mind, purify thoughts, bring clarity, achieve spiritual alignment, and cleanse negativity and heaviness from the body, mind, and soul. Indigenous tribes have used this medicine for thousands of years to heal their communities and connect with the Creator.
The preparation of this medicinal plant is a labor-intensive process that takes days to complete and is conducted ceremonially. It involves various healing Amazonian medicinal plants, leaves, trees, and seeds from native lands.

At Earth’s Love, we source our hapé with fairness and respect, honoring the wisdom of Indigenous communities and ensuring that each blend comes from safe, authentic, and trustworthy origins.

Hapé is a sacred ancestral medicine, deeply rooted in the traditional practices of the peoples who carry this knowledge. It is not recognized as medicine by the FDA. Conventional medical treatments for physical or mental conditions should not be discontinued.

Rapé is strictly prohibited for individuals under 18.

We encourage mindful use—approached with respect, intention, and wisdom—and, whenever possible, under the guidance of a shaman or an experienced practitioner.

Those with respiratory or heart conditions, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women, are advised to avoid its use unless safely guided by knowledgeable keepers of the tradition.

To fully receive its benefits, dedicate a quiet, clean, and protected space for the practice, allowing the medicine to unfold without outside interference. Beginners may start with very small portions—about the size of a grain of rice—and gradually adjust as they feel ready, observing and recording their experiences as part of the path of self-discovery.

Each hapé carries its own unique spirit and way of working. Choosing a blend should be done with clear purpose and intention. By engaging with this medicine, you also help support the forest, preserve ancestral knowledge, and uphold the continuity of Indigenous traditions that keep this legacy alive with respect and wisdom.
