The artisans of the Waurá people, from the Ulupuwene Village, dedicate up to three days to create each elastic bracelet made with glass beads.
This handmade work carries a technical and cultural repertoire passed down and refined through generations, through which the Waurá people continue to exist with strength and beauty.

• About Waurá People

The Waurá people, inhabitants of the Upper Xingu region in Mato Grosso, preserve one of the richest and most complex cultural traditions in the area. Their way of life is deeply connected to the waters: rivers, lakes, and fish are not only sources of food but also essential elements of their symbolic and spiritual organization. Waurá pottery, known for its refined finish and elegant forms, is one of the most striking expressions of their art, created primarily by women.

Even while facing external pressures, the Waurá people continue to pass on their knowledge, traditions, and values to new generations, preserving their identity and their place within the cultural mosaic of the Xingu.
